This DVD is a collection of 32 songs that includes 11 popular Christmas carols and 20 hymns and contemporary praise choruses. Each song is beautifully presented in ASL by DeAnn Sampley, with English vocal and instrumental backgrounds. The program also includes a music video of Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene’s popular Christmas song, “Mary, Did You Know?” that is performed in American Sign Language by DeAnn.
BONUS: An amazing tool – a printed companion text is included, which contains the song lyrics in English following DeAnn’s interlinear ASL glosses. This shows the contrasts between spoken/written English and ASL. This booklet in itself is an amazing teaching device for those wanting to understand the ASL language. This video may be used as a resource for sign language interpreters or as a way to enhance the worship experience for Deaf people and Deaf churches.
